Yea I know what you’re thinking what is she going to go on about this time… well it’s something that I’ve recently mastered the art of…
When you move, they say it’s not easy, but it’s something that you can’t prepare yourself for, because as humans, it’s something that we all handle differently…
I’m the kind of person who takes it in my stride and carries on, because that’s how I’ve been brought up but you slowly change the way you do things, the things you do and overtime I started to lose my way and stopped doing the things I loved.
This wasn’t intentional or something I’d planned to do, but it just happened, because life got in the way. That’s the easy excuse anyway. But for me, I finally reached a point where being in a new country for almost 9 months made me decide that it was time to stop and reflect. Reflect on who I was, to who I am now, and to think about the things that are important to me that I have forgotten about.
I decided to go out, buy myself a journal and get writing, what are some goals I want to achieve, what are some things I want to start doing?
Well top of the list definitely had to be the gym. In South Africa you would find me at the gym at 5am every morning ready to go, yet here turned into a gym session here and there, and only doing the bare minimum.
After writing out my goals I decided that this week was my time to get back into it, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for my dedication and allowing my body to prove just how strong I am, and even though I’ve been out of training for some time, the amount of walking and other sports sure did put at me at a good starting point.
If you feel like you’re a little lost or unsure of where you are or where you’re going, I’d highly recommend taking a step back and reflecting on things in your life and writing down what you want to achieve and how you’re going to get there! Thinking it is one thing but doing it, is the complete opposite!
Put the pen to the paper and get goal setting it really does assist with holding you accountable for the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Here’s to my goals, and to reaching them one step at a time.
