Stop focusing on the Negatives…

Hello all you lovely humans 🐰

As with any bit of a holiday that we tend to get, or rather time off, this gives our minds a little more time to think and reflect and that’s exactly what I did a lot of this weekend 🙋🏼‍♀️ I think that giving yourself time to reflect is not important but rather a necessity in one’s daily life.

We often get so caught up with our day to day activities that we forget to reflect on just how lucky are privileged we are. Lucky and privileged will mean completely different things to any two people. For some they are thankful for being fit and healthy, it could be for the roof over the head, some may view it as having a good relationship with their family and friends and for others it could literally be for ability to walk.

Each and every human being is unique and views all situations differently and this is what makes us all so special. But with that comes it’s negatives too. As humans we don’t tend to try and focus on the negatives but rather this is a trait that we have and a lot of the time focus on the things we don’t have and we tend to lose sight of what we do have.

If you only see the negatives of a situation, person or thing you will never ever get past those negatives and those negative views will consume the whole situation, person or thing. It doesn’t matter what that thing does whether it be good or bad it will still be viewed as negative.

What exactly do I mean by this, well let’s say for example I tell you that a restaurants service is slow, you’re going to find faults in each aspect of the restaurant rather than looking at the positives of the place you’ll solely focus on the negatives- whether this be right or wrong, I challenge you to start looking for the positives in situations, people and things.

Not one human is perfect and yes a lot of people are convinced they are and that’s okay because we’re all entitled to our opinions but at the end of the day you need to sometimes take a step back, remember what is really important to you and nurture what you have and what you’re thankful for because by taking it for granted you’re slowly because less and less aware of just how lucky you are to have it.

So what am I aiming to get at in this blog post, after the Easter weekend, I woke up this morning with a clear view on everything that I’m thankful for and how the littles thing that take two seconds of your time can mean so much to someone else.

I am therefore challenging you to start waking up each morning and taking 5 minutes to think about what you’re thankful for, by doing this you’ll be creating a whole lot more positivity in your life and you’ll realise just how much you can be thankful for.

That saying “be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it all” truly means a lot to me because it’s so easy to overlook what you have and to look at what you could have making it extremely easy to forget how lucky you are to have what’s right in front of you.

For the next few days I challenge you to wake up and think about 2/3 things you’re thankful for and watch how quickly things change! A positive attitude starts with you and will affect all of those around you!

Feel free to get in touch and let me know what you’re thankful for!

Yours faithfully,

@JessBirdinthewild
